Holistic Solutions, Point Solutions, and FUD

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler – Albert Einstein

We've all come to know some person who seemed a little off or a company that’s just beyond the status quo. Some tend to get pigeonholed because of rumors they’re "too complicated" or "overpriced." Oftentimes, we later realize that such people or companies were simply ahead of their time.

There is a famous quote attributed to Henry Ford. When asked whether people were ready for his Model T, he said “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” Regardless of the fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) in the marketplace, pioneering companies tend to keep right on growing. And the industry is better for it.

What’s this got to do with output management? Glad you asked.

Some say LRS software solutions are complicated or too expensive. To which I ask: what's more complicated, a horse or a car? Which one did you take to work this morning? What’s more expensive – finding the up-front money to implement a robust solution that can run for decades or finding the time, money, and staff time to replace a cheap system when you realize it’s not up to the task of managing heavy document volumes when needed? It’s that old adage: pain once when you buy or pain every time you use it.

FUD for Thought

We've heard the criticisms, yet LRS continues to dominate output management in the healthcare space, the warehousing space, the pharmaceutical space, and everywhere we go. The only competition we have are point solutions, software that solves 10% of your issues for 30% of your budget. The typical LRS customer is one that's ready to implement a "future proof" solution that will ensure your enterprise is disaster recoverable, fault tolerant, secure, and highly available. One that is also compatible with every industry standard currently in use and flexible enough to support new standards as technology evolves.

LRS creates software that is modular, built from the ground up to be secure, fundamentally faster and more efficient than any other software on the market. Our customers include some of the largest energy companies in the world to global leaders in pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, technology, banking, social media, and more. We also serve smaller organizations like innovative IT providers and healthcare trusts whose stakeholders deal with documents for which print failure is sometimes literally life or death. Regardless of size, all of these organizations have one thing in common: they end up sticking with LRS. Like customers around the world over the last four decades, they learn that our claims are more than boasts, and that we stand behind the reliability and scalability of our products.

In the coming weeks, several of our SME's will write about real world experiences with enterprise customers, explaining some unique features only found in the LRS solution set. As for those sowing fear, uncertainty, and doubt: don't take my word for it without challenging it and definitely don’t take theirs. Ask deeper questions and you’ll find that our competitors are point solutions with limited enterprise capabilities. Ask them specific questions about how their architecture ensures reliability, availability, scalability, and you will normally get a smoke screen. Most are hard pressed to give you specifics because the functionality they claim isn't there.

We're happy to answer questions, even if you're evaluating our competitors’ software. We'll give you the specifics you're looking for. Why? Because we know that once you are an LRS customer, we will be working with you for years to come.
